Michael P. May
April 18 2026

On April 18, 2026, Michael Patrick May, beloved husband of
Sarah "Sally" May (nee Nagle); devoted father of Joseph Sylvester

May and his wife Eileen May and Andrew Martin May; loving

grandfather of Bridget Mary May; dear brother of Thomas May,

Kathleen May Wayno, and the late Charles May; also survived by extended family and friends.

A life of service is often measured not in years, but in impact, and few lives reflected that truth more powerfully than that of Mike May.
Mike answered the call to serve his country as an Airborne Military Police officer in Vietnam, standing firm when duty demanded courage and sacrifice. He carried that same unwavering sense of responsibility into his years in law enforcement, protecting his community with integrity, resilience, and a steadfast commitment to justice. Where others saw challenges, Mike saw people worth protecting and standards worth upholding.
His distinguished career with the Baltimore Police Department as a Sergeant was cut short when injuries sustained while pursuing a suspect forced him into medical retirement. Yet Mike’s journey of service did not end there. Determined to continue making a difference, he attended law school and became an attorney. In that role, he carried forward his lifelong pursuit of fairness, lending his voice, knowledge, and compassion to those who needed it most. Mike understood that justice is not only enforced—it must also be defended, explained, and made accessible to all. In every case, he brought not only skill, but principle.
Perhaps most enduring of all was the legacy Mike built as a mentor, advocate, and supporter of charitable causes. He invested deeply in others—guiding, encouraging, and uplifting those who looked to him not only for answers, but for an example to follow. His generosity extended beyond profession into purpose, shaping lives in ways that cannot be measured, only felt.

Across every chapter of his life—military service, law enforcement, the practice of law, and community service—Mike remained grounded in something rare: a genuine commitment to others. He did not simply hold titles; he honored them through the way he lived.
